Even
though I live in the Big City, there is lots of wildlife still around us. For
example, there is a family of raccoons living in the yard next door. I see them
occasionally at night when no one else is awake.
Here
are the three baby raccoons that I see. I really like watching them cause
they like to wrestle with each other, but Im scared that one is going to
fall off the roof! They really remind me of my kitten days. They
seem pretty curious but Im glad that the window screens are down or else
theyd be inside my house waking everybody up.
One
day last week, there was a big thunderstorm here in Chicago. I heard a loud strange
crying noise from next door. I looked out the window and there was a baby raccoon
crying for its mother afraid of the lightning and thunder. I felt very sorry for
him, but the mother came right away and made sure that he was OK. Whew!
Ill
be sure to add more stories of this raccoon family as I get to know them better.
This
is the tree next to our back porch.

to find out how a real nice Florida couple have raised 48 baby raccoons. Wowie-Zowie,
what a neat thing to do!
